Improving dental health by using garlic

Garlic can help you have healthy teeth and gums. In fact, as far as improving dental health, it is a safe, natural way to go. You may not realize it, but the anti-bacterial properties it provides can protect your teeth and gums.

Chopping raw garlic activates a substance called allicin. And allicin is effective in fighting bacteria. Through its use, you can reduce cavities and other mouth infections. It is also an excellent preventative measure for eliminating bacteria before it can create any harm.

Get Rid of Toothaches

Toothaches can result from cavities, gum infection or even from brushing or flossing too vigorously. There are several ways to use garlic for toothaches:

  • Chew on a peeled clove
  • Leave the chewed clove next to the toothache area
  • Crush it into a paste, mix it with a little salt and then apply it to the toothache area

If you don’t like the bitter taste of raw garlic, you can mix it with honey.
