Halloween came early to Hutto Hippo Family Dental this year, and things got a little spooky.
Our team showed up in costume, but the real star of the day was our newest patient. He sat down in the chair, kicked up his feet, and didnāt flinch once.
Our Most Relaxed Patient Ever
Letās be honest: heās a little thin. He hasnāt had a meal in a while, and itās been a long time since his last cleaning. No judgment here. We were just happy he came in. He showed up in his favorite Super Bowl sweatshirt, a backwards cap, and a fresh pair of sneakers, and he made himself right at home.

Good news: his smile is all teeth, and not a single one has a cavity. (Thereās not much left that can get one.) He wasnāt much of a talker, but weāre counting it as one of our easiest appointments of the year.
Some patients get nervous in the dental chair, and thatās completely normal. We take it slow, explain each step, and check in along the way. Our skeleton friend just happened to be the calmest patient weāve ever seen. He didnāt need a single break, and he even got a little extra love on his way out.

The Costume Lineup
The rest of us dressed up too. We had Minnie Mouse ears, black angel wings with a fuzzy halo, a spider headband, rainbow feathers, a ghost-covered sweater, a flock of witchy chickens declaring āTonight We Fly,ā and one very honest āThis is my Halloween costumeā shirt.

Halloween is one of our favorite days in the office. Our team works hard every day, and itās great to see everyone laugh together. We hope these photos show a little of what it feels like to visit us: friendly faces, a relaxed room, and people who enjoy what they do.

A Few Treats Without the Tricks
Before you dig into the candy bowl, here are a few simple tips to keep Halloween fun for your teeth:
- Eat treats with a meal instead of snacking all day. Your mouth makes more saliva during meals, which helps rinse sugar away.
- Go easy on sticky and sour candy. Caramels, taffy, and gummies cling to teeth, and sour candy is extra acidic on enamel.
- Chocolate is a better pick. It melts and washes off teeth faster than chewy candy.
- Drink water after treats to rinse away sugar and acid.
- Wait about an hour before brushing after sour or acidic candy, so you donāt scrub softened enamel.

Happy Halloween from All of Us
From our team (and our very bony friend), we hope your Halloween is full of laughs and good treats, without any dental scares. And if itās been a while since your last visit, thatās okay. Weāll welcome you the same way we welcomed him: no judgment, just a comfy chair and a friendly team.
At Hutto Hippo Family Dental, we take time to listen and never rush your visit. Whether itās your childās first checkup or your own routine cleaning, weād love to be your familyās dental home. š¦“š
